The International Center is pleased to welcome three new members to its study abroad staff.

Heidi Prillwitz joins the center as a senior study abroad coordinator. She holds a master’s degree in education and human development from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Taylor University in Indiana. While completing her undergraduate degree, Heidi studied for a semester in Greystones, Ireland, launching her interest in global education. Heidi’s professional background includes advising for study abroad programs in Australia, Oxford and India for a third-party program provider. Before joining the MU International Center, she lived in Brisbane, Australia, for three years and worked for a study abroad program that focused on Australian and Australian Indigenous culture, history and policy.

Allison Bader is serving as the study abroad assistant. She is a Columbia native and Mizzou alumna who holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Psychology. In undergrad, she had the opportunity to study abroad as an exchange student at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, as well as teach English in South Korea for one month. She joins the International Center after teaching in Busan, South Korea, for two years through the EPIK program.

Brendan Harris joins the center as a study abroad adviser. He has a bachelor’s degree in French language and culture from Christopher Newport University. His first international experiences began growing up in a military family, moving several times and traveling around Western Europe. For his French degree, he spent a summer in Paris studying art and cross-cultural communication. Other international experiences include working with the global missions department of a campus ministry organization, and later with the Office of International Education at Appalachian State University, where he is currently completing his master’s degree in higher education leadership. During his master’s program, he spent time in Great Britain studying postsecondary student support services. Brendan is proficient in French, and loves learning about other cultures through languages, sports (mostly football/soccer), music and art.
