The International Center is pleased to announce a new process for departments wishing to host or hire a J-1 scholar.

Effective May 1, 2018, the center will no longer accept paper or emailed J-1 scholar requests. Instead, departments should use the myStatus platform. This system will allow departments to submit both new and extension requests online. To start a new request, please follow the instructions outlined on the relevant page below, and log in with your MU username and password when prompted:

• Bringing a J-1 scholar to campus
• Extending a J-1 program (for departments with current J-1 scholars at MU)

Please note that the overall requirements for hiring or hosting a J-1 scholar remain unchanged.
