We are pleased to announce the University of Missouri’s new partnership with Anthem Student Advantage to continue providing comprehensive accident and illness health insurance coverage for MU’s international community for 2021/22. The new plan begins Aug. 1, 2021. The MU Student Health Center will continue to provide support for policy, billing and transition of care questions or concerns (call 573-882-9107).

International students

All F-1 and J-1 international students are required to enroll in the Anthem Student Advantage health insurance and will be billed for the coverage each semester. Students will be automatically enrolled in the mandatory insurance plan when they register for any number of credit hours.

International scholars

All J-1 exchange visitors and their dependents must meet insurance coverage requirements for the duration of their stay.

• J-1 scholars enrolled in an MU employee health insurance plan must purchase the separate medical evacuation and repatriation insurance from Anthem Student Advantage.
• J-1 scholars not eligible for MU health insurance can enroll in the Anthem Student Advantage visiting scholar insurance plan.
